Description
A lovely, large early Air France poster showing the airline's nascent worldwide network, published only four years after the airline was founded.
It highlights their routes from Paris, to New York, Rio de Janeiro, Buenos Aires and Santiago in the Americas, Dakar, Algiers, Casablanca and Tunis in Africa, and to Damascus, Baghdad, Calcutta and Bangkok in Asia, ending at the French colonies of Hanoi and Saigon in Vietnam.
The map is handsomely embellished with some of the traditional elements of earlier world maps, including clouds, large compass roses, galleons and Neptune with tritons in the oceans and with pictorial vignette illustrations across the lands.
Lucien Boucher (1889-1971) started his career as a cartoonist for satirical magazines before focusing on poster artwork for film and advertising. He is best known for the series of Air France posters that he made between 1934 and 1962.

Shipping
Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
Hold Shipment Service
