Description
Matching set of 2 attractive large folio maps depicting all of South America in the grand Coronelli style. Splendid large ornate cartouche with Coronelli's normal flourish. The map illustrates many of the primitive notions of the new world then prevalent in the European thought and can be seen as an effort to make a statement and as subtle propaganda to it user of the day. It shows many highly specific views f the continent with savages appearing to be harming other through many cruel and barbaric means including warfarce and torturing. All of the natives are depicted as aggressive savages, consistent with the thought prevalent at the time.
The map depicts real and imagined places, rivers, mountains, as well as strange and wonderful animals including ones with many heads! The mountains and river courses are many cases highly speculative and at times quizzical.

Shipping
Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
