Description
One of a series of composite world atlases of varying contents published by John Seller (fl.1658-1698) from 1676 onwards and among one of the very earliest English world atlases.73 double-page engraved maps, town plans and view, including 24 double-page maps and 49 single page maps with corresponding engraved text page on opposite side of the map.
All maps are extremely fine and dark impressions.The maps depict North and South America, Europe, Asia and Africa.
The work includes a title page, the 'New Mapp of the World' which shows California as an island (repeated on the map of North America) and only partially outlines the Australian Coastline.
The world map, Western Hemisphere, North America and Mexico/California map are showing California as an island (McLaughlin, 67, 68, 69).
Included are two North pole projections and one south pole map.
Among the interesting maps of North America is the double page map "A map of New Iarsey By John Seller", derived from Seller's folio map of the province.

Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
