Description
This is a reduced version of the famous view of Boa Vista derived by the famous work of Barlaeus entitled "Rerum per octennium in Brasilia et alibi gestarum...", which appeared as a folio size book in 1647. The work is considered extremely rare, because of the devastating fire at Blaeu's workshop which destroyed most copies of the book, copper-plates along with the workshop.
The print offered here is from Hugo Allard, whose production was also very small. Indeed, Hugo (or Huych) Allard (or Allardt or Allart) (1627–1684) was active during the Dutch Golden Age of cartography.
He was the founder of a prominent family of Dutch mapmakers, publishers, and print sellers. Allard set up his cartography workshop around 1645, and, like in this case, his first works were mostly reissues of earlier maps. Hugo Allard’s work, from about 1640 to 1680, is considered to be of finest quality. His output was relatively small, and his prints were mostly published as loose, separate issues,

Shipping
Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
