Four-sheet map of the Pacific Ocean showing good detail on Australia, New Zealand and the west coast of North and South America. In lower margin: Le plan grave´ par Jacobs, la lettre par Hacq.
A matching set of the first four maps in the very rare atlas volume to Dumon D’Urville’s third voyage of exploration to the South Pacific, which left Toulon late in 1837 in the Astrolabe and the Zélée.
From "Atlas hydrographique" volume to"Voyage au Pole sud et dans l'Océanie exécuté par ordre du roi sur le Corvettes L'Astrolabe et la Zélée pendant les années 1837-1838-1839-1840 sous le commandement de M.J. Dumont-D'Urville, Capitaine de Vaisseau : atlas hydrographique par M. C.A. Vincendon-Dumoulin, Ingénieur de la Marine. Plate 1 (no. 1092), Plate 2 (no. 1093), Plate 3 (no. 1094) and Plate 4 (no. 1095). The original numbers of charts from the hydrographic office follow the contents in numerical arrangement.

Prepared by Clément Adrien Vincendon-Dumoulin (1811-1858), French hydrographer who served under Dumont d'Urville on his voyages to the south Pacific.
Jules Sébastien César Dumont d'Urville (23 May 1790 – 8 May 1842) was a French explorer, naval officer and rear admiral, who explored the south and western Pacific, Australia, New Zealand and Antarctica. As a botanist and cartographer he left his mark, giving his name to several seaweeds, plants and shrubs, and places such as D'Urville Island.

Shipping
Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
