Description
A highly attractive and scarce map of Lake Geneva and its environs, orientated to the south east. There is a high degree of skillful engraving within this map, embellished as it is with a handsome large compass rose at its center, and with assorted sailing boat, and a strong (blank) Mannerist cartouche and scale. Many towns and villages are identified, along with rivers, forests and some part of the Alps.
This example is a from a slightly later edition that that of the rare earlier edition with the five portraits of Calvin, Farellus, Viretus, Beza and Goulartius. After this edition, the portraits were covered before printing: the lower border appears blank. The map is oriented to the South-east and has an unfilled cartouche and a mileage scale. Includes part of Franche-Comté region with Jura Mountains.
Maps in original or old color are increasingly harder to find.

Shipping
Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
