Description
A fine view of the city of Macao from Lappa Island showing the defences, the forts, churches and convents: including Fort de Baare, Bon Parto, Fort St Paulo (Monte Fort). Churches and convents including, St Layrentio, St Angostino, de Seo (Cathedral), St Domingo, St Francisco, Cloister st Paulo, St Pedro, St Joan, St Antoni, St Lazaro and Nossa Senora de Gia. Also indicated is Shineesches Pagode (Chinese pagoda) - Ama Temple.
With European vessels and junks in the surrounding water. "No. 26" in upper left corner.
The print originally appeared in Valentijn's book Oud en Nieuw Oost-Indien (Dordrecht/Amsterdam 1724/26). With in the right bottom corner the imprint J.van Braam en G. onder de Linden.
Including the area east of Cape of Good Hope till Australia and Japan.
François Valentijn (1666-1727), a missionary, worked at Amboina from 1684 to 1694 and 1705 to 1713 and traveled extensively in the V.O.C.'s lands. He is best known for his monumental history and description, ''Oud en Nieuw Oost-Indiën'' which remains one of the most important primary sources for the East Indies and neighboring lands.

Shipping
Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
Hold Shipment Service
