Maria Laurentio Tranquillo Mollo (born August 10, 1767 in Bellinzona, Ticino, died March 29, 1837) was a native of Switzerland and a graphic printer, art and music dealers and major art publisher in Vienna.
Mollo worked from 1792, first as an assistant in the music publishing house "Artaria & Co." in Vienna. He became a partner in 1793 with his compatriot Giovanni Cappi Artaria.
On 14 July 1798 he separated by Artaria and Mollo founded with Franz Bernardinion his own music publishing company "T. Mollo & Co. ", which was also an art and map action house.
But the partnership with Bernardini lasted only a year.
In 1801, Mollo took as a new partner Domenico Artaria, the son of Francesco Artaria in his company. Carlo Artaria sold in 1802 his company to Mollo. In 1804, Mollo separated from his partner Domenico Artaria and called his publisher now just "T. Mollo ".
Mollo became one of the most important art publisher and took the lead in the Austrian maps and globes production. He worked with some French and English cartographers. Especially the series of landscape views and costume pictures of the artist and engraver William Frederick Schlotterbeck brought the company significant revenue.
Through his prints he became well known in the UK.
From 1832 to 1839 the company was run by his sons Edward (1799-1842) and Florian Mollo (1803-1869) as "art and music shop Tranquillo Mollo's sons".

Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
