Description
A nice example of Finley's 1827 map of the Eastern Hemisphere. It is seen with all of Finley's classic minimalist style, this map identifies some cities, river systems and mountains.
The map is color coded by continent. Engraved by Young and Delleker for the 1827 edition of Anthony Finley's General Atlas.
Anthony Finley (ca. 1790-1840) was an American map publisher who was based in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. His most prominent works were, "A New American Atlas" and the" New General Atlas…" which were published from 1824 through to 1834.
While relatively little is known of Finley's personal life, he seems to have worked in the same publishing and engraving circles as fellow American H.S. Tanner. Though most of Finley's cartographic material was borrowed from European sources, his atlases were well received at the time of their publishing.
His works are known for being attractively sparse and minimalist, focusing primarily on clarity and only the most important facts.

Shipping
Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
