Description
Original lithograph of the ink drawing by the French Art-Nouveau artist Adrien Barrère (1877-1931), a \"pathological humoresque\" of 16 contemporary professors from the medical faculty of the University of Paris. This is one of six motifs by this artist dealing with medical topics.
Barrère\'s work has been described as \"pathological humoresque.
Signed in the stone, lower right. Adrien Baneux (artist name Barrère) (1877-1931) studied in Paris for several semesters law and medicine before he began a career as a cartoonist. Well known for his caricatures of lawyers \"Professeurs de la Faculté de Droit\" or the here offered caricatures of the Paris Faculty of Medicine, created in the period from 1900 to 1905.
His cartoons were a ready market at the time - not one Parisian medical student returned home without one of these images, of which 420,000 copies were printed.
The persons depicted are from left to right: Paul SEGOND, Jules DEJERINE, Félix DE LAPERSONNE, Louis LANDOUZY, Philippe GAUCHER, Gabriel-Edouard BRISSAUD, Augustin GILBERT, Paul RECLUS, Georges ROGER, Odilon LANNELONGUE, Jean LE DENTU, Charles RICHET, Edouard KIRMISSON, Louis TERRIER.

Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
