Description
A delightful early 19th century view of Quebec City in Canada, engravrd by George Cooke and published in London. Quebec City's strategic location on the St. Lawrence River determined the nature of its development.
In the age of sail, it held a dominant position as a port of entry and exit for ocean-going vessels.
It quickly became the transfer port for domestic and foreign trade (especially furs and timber) and the arrival and departure point for travelers and immigrants to North America. From the beginning, its location made Quebec City a political, administrative and military center.
This copperplate view displays ships anchored in the river, a rudimentary boat yard and some settlement on the shoreline, the citadel, together with churches, public buildings and the higher city in the background. Quebec is the home of the Québécois nation, and is one of the thirteen provinces and territories of Canada. Today, Quebec is the largest province by area and the second-largest by population.

Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
