Description
Rare pocket atlas of the world by Pierre Duval with the maps in original outlines colors (except for the China map) and the coats-of-arms and titles-pages beautifully embellished with gold and silver.
First published in 1661, this miniature atlas includes 83 maps (1 hours table) of the world and 38 (of 39) coats-of-arms of the main countries.
The engraved title-page bears the address of Duval and Nicolas Langlois. The first end paper bears the signature of « Delahaye aîné 1810 », who could be Jean-Baptiste-Henri Delahaye (17..-18..?), son of Jean-Baptiste Delahaye and the oldest brother of Guillaume-Nicolas Delahaye.
Pierre Duval was Nicolas Sanson's nephew and pupil. He published a wide range of atlases and individual maps including this fine miniature world geography with many of the maps based on Sanson.

Shipping
Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
