A wonderful bible leaf, written on vellum around 1250 in Paris!!
There are 42 lines in a very regular gothic book hand. One initial is beautifully decorated in gold, red and blue with a long tail !! The rubric is in red, chapter numbers in red and blue and the ordinary initial in red and blue pen work. The name of the book is at the top in red and blue.
The text is from the book Sapientiae Salomonis and the beginning of the prologue to Ecclesiasticus [ or Jesus Sirach ] in the Apogrypha .
