Description
The crucifixion.
The Saviour on the cross, his mother and John next to him.
The landscape and the sky are well done, suggesting the darkness that occurred when Jesus was on the cross.
The text is in a neat batarde hand with many initials in red, blue and gold.
The whole reminds me of the Hours of Charles V, made in Brussels for the Emperor, circa 1540.
