Description
This plan originates from Charlevoix's work Histoire et description Générele du Japon . His first in 1715 published work was the Histoire de l'etablissement du christianisme au Japon (History of the establishment of Christianity Japan) the text of which was completely revised and incorporated in the present history. Guillaume Dheulland was the engraver of the map.
Copied from Kaempfer's map with numerous simplifications and he puts the upside-down buildings and legends in the southern part the right way up.
The Dutch trading post of V.O.C., the Chinese port, and "the place where enemy ships are burned", clearly marked.
Due to Dutch presence in Nagasaki; Japan learned many aspects of the scientific and technological revolution occurring in Europe at that time, helping the country build up the beginnings of a theoretical and technological scientific base, which helps to explain Japan's success in its radical and speedy modernization following the opening of the country to foreign trade in 1854.

Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
