Description
Original edition of this lively map of Arizona by Reginald W. Manning (1905 – 1986), who was a Pulitzer Prize winning American artist and illustrator, best known for his editorial cartoons.
A reprint of the map was made in 1945.
Manning was a long time resident of Arizona, Manning’s only art training occurred during high school. After graduating, Manning worked as a freelance illustrator, until he was hired in 1926 by The Arizona Republic as a photographer and artist.
At first, Manning's work appeared in several forms in the paper. Although he was interested in drawing comic strips, the popularity of his editorial work led him to focus on editorial cartoons.
Manning often used a small anthropomorphic cactus with a big nose as a visual signature. From 1948 until 1971, his work was syndicated by the McNaught Syndicate.
In 1951, Manning won a Pulitzer Prize for Editorial Cartooning for his editorial cartoon entitled "Hats", which was a commentary on the Korean War. Several of his books deal with Arizona and its cacti in particular, such as What Kinda Cactus Izzat? (also known as The Cactus Book), and What is Arizona Really Like?: A Guide to Arizona's Marvels. Reg Manning also did exceptional copper wheel engravings on crystal glass. See his book Desert in Crystal (1973).

Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:

- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
