Description
“The Countie and Citie of Lyncolne described with the Armes of Them That Have Bene Earles thereoe since the conquest”. English county map by John Speed. The plates were engraved by Jodocus Hondius in 1610 and first published in 1611 in John Speed's “Theatre of Empire”.
This map is from the rare 1614 edition with English text on verso, unlike later editions, no publishers mark just that of the engraver.
A very decorative map with a title cartouche, large compass rose, ornate mileage scale, ten coats-of-arms of the Earls of Lincoln, the royal arms, a sailing ship in The Wash and a sea monster offshore.
The armies of King Henry III and his disloyal barons. There is an inset plan of Lincolne (Lincoln) which includes a small compass rose and the city's arms.

Maps are shipped in solid tubes or flat between solid cardboard. Fully insured, signature required, and with online tracking. Shortly after shipment, you will get the tracking number by email.The standard is that we ship items by UPS or DHL for European destinations, and a flat shipping fee is added to each shipment. It is a one-time fee even if you buy multiple items. This fee covers shipping and insurance (up to the invoice amount) to:
- North America, Canada, Europe $ 30
- Asia $ 40
- For South America, Mauritius, Africa and Australia a shipping fee of $ 50 will be charged.
We charge only a one-time shipping fee if you have won 2 or more items.
