Venise.

A rare and decorative bird's eye view of Venice, copied after Coronelli's plan of 1693. Included in "Voyages De Mr. Du Mont En France, En Italie, En Allemagne, à Malte, Et En Turchie."
Venice and its lagoon are set in a decorative border consisting of a winding garland containing Venice's leading families; leafy branches are interwoven with the garland. The view itself is of such fine detail that virtually all individual structures are distinguishable. The prospect is further animated by the great variety of nautical craft in the surrounding waters.
