Eduard Artsrunian, Armenian is one of the leading representatives of contemporary Russian-Armenian art, Honored artist of the Armenian SSR (1984), People's artist of the Armenian SSR (1989). Member of the Armenia's Union of Artists (1961).
The art works of Artsrunian are exhibited in many main galleries of the former USSR / CIS countries, Europe, Canada, USA, in the Armenia's National Museum, Armenia's Ministry of Culture's Funds, in Trekiakov Gallery (Moscow) and in many private collections worldwide.
Edward Artsrunyan is born in Leninakan (now Gyumri), Armenia in 1929. He entered in 1944 the Art college.
From 1947-1951 he studied at the Art School attached to the Art Academy of the USSR in Leningrad (now St.Petersburg).
From 1951-1957 he studied at the Institute of painting, sculpture and architecture attached to the USSR Art Academy, Leningrad.
He was a student of professors Serebrianiy, B. Kharchenko, G. Papikyan.
During 1982-1985 he was awarded the Prizes of the Armenia Artists’ Union for the best work represented at a "single picture" exhibitions.
Since 1984 he is a Honoured artist of Armenia.
From 1980–1990 he was a member of the board and the chairman of the painting section of the Armenia Artists’ Union.
Eduard Artsrunian was art professor at the Art college named after P. Terlemezyan (Yerevan) and Institute of Fine Arts and Drama (Yerevan).
In 1989 he was awarded the title of the People Artist of Armenia and silver medal of the USSR Art Academy “For the best exhibition of the year” (Central Home of artists, Moscow).
He died in 2010 in Yerevan.
