Description
The text is from the Book of Hours translated into Dutch, probably by Geert Grote: most Books of Hours were in Latin at that time, but Grote thought that even lay men should be able to read religious books!!
The text is in black with the rubrics in red: the initials are in red or blue.
Translation of part of the text , beginning at the top of the recto, reads as follows:
Is die here starc ende gheweldich die gheweldighe here in den stride Ghi princen heft op uwe poerten ende werdt uerheuen ghi ewighe poerten ende daer sel ingaen die coninc der glorien Wie is dese coninc der glorien .
dat is die heer alre machten
hi is coninc der glorien Glorie si den [vader Alst was].
