Very fine depiction of Horticultural Hal at the 1876 International World exhibition in Philadelphia.
The building was 360 feet wide and used 1.5 acres. The centennial exhibition took place to celebrate the 100 year existence of the Republic. Fairmount Park was at that time with its 1350 hectare the largest park in the world. The title is in English and German.
The publisher H.J.Teudy was active in Philadelphia, 621 Commerce Street. Plate is copyrighted 1874, by the Centennial Board of Finance. Each plate give a fine impression of architecture and fashion. Among the visitors is a couple in Indian dress to lower right. Lot Nrs. 05556-05561are together one set.
